On February 9 2010, Apple released Aperture 3. An advance software for photographer. There are 200+ new features claimed, but some of them are useless for me, in fact 64-Bit support makes Aperture 3 heavier. You will strongly need 4GM ram to work smoothly

3 Days after I installed trial version, I can make conclusion that I don’t need to switch to Adobe Lightroom.

Awesome New Features

Aperture 3 - Brush

Now you have plenty brushes (almost like Photoshop). Use brush strokes to modify – brush in or brush away – most of the standard image adjustments available in the Adjustments inspector. You can control the size, softness, and strength of each brush with intuitive sliders.

Brush is one of 39 new features image adjustment. Take a look at the rest of them.

Aperture 3 - Slideshow

Advanced Slideshows. Personally I like slideshow on Aperture 2, simple & clean. But iPhoto has various neat and slick slideshow styles, that makes me jealous.

Aperture 3 includes all iPhoto themes and two new themes: Watercolor Panels and Photo Edges. Each theme gives you a professionally designed layout, title treatment, and transitions to create a distinctive backdrop for your photos.

I love plugins from NIK Software, all of them work on Aperture 3 even tho certain plugin (32-bit) requires Aperture to restart before using it.

WTF New Features

Aperture 3 - Faces

Faces automatically detects faces in your photos. Once a face is detected and identified, Faces can recognize that face and then scan your entire library – or individual projects – to find others just like it. The more you use Faces, the smarter and more accurate it gets.

I have thousands photos and I don’t have time to name every face. I tried once but ended on 7th face. Guess what, those faces will be deleted soon.

OMYGOAT. I’m not that kind of traveler. In one year, I travel only twice or 3 times beyond Bali. Again, I don’t have time tagging location on every photos. Look at the screenshot, those red point generated automatically from iPhone.
